With over 20 years of experience in consulting and industry, Bob specializes in developing strategy and executing tactics across a wide range of industries, including global philanthropies, media & entertainment, high-tech, consumer products, retail, telecommunications, government and financial institutions. He is a proven leader who builds dynamic teams that enjoy working together to win. His integrity and ‘has your back’ support are two key reasons consultants and clients alike enjoy working with Bob. Bob also enjoys travelling, practicing martial arts like Brazilian jiu jitsu, and supporting various non-profit organizations.
Stefanie Sanford | President, Civic Ventures
Stefanie leads efforts to improve civic knowledge and engagement, transcend polarization, and animate spirited and effective conversation across difference in multiple contexts and policy areas. She brings decades of experience in philanthropy, education policy, and government, including leadership roles at the College Board and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
A fifth generation Texan, she began her career in the Texas state capitol working in both Republican and Democratic administrations before being selected as a White House Fellow, serving in the Office of Cabinet Affairs. Stefanie chairs the Board of Trustees for the Institute for Citizens & Scholars and contributes to various organizations focused on civic empowerment, education and collective impact.
An accomplished writer, moderator and speaker, she is author of the book “Civic Life in the Information Age: Politics, Technology and Generation X” based on her dissertation research.
Mandee Eckersley | Senior VP of Client Engagement, Postsecondary Success
Mandee is an accomplished higher education strategist with 20+ years of experience leading digital learning innovation, driving high-impact marketing, and supporting institutional transformation. She partners with intermediary organizations, institution leaders, and practitioners to strengthen student success, improve credential attainment, and expand economic opportunity for learners of all backgrounds. Her career spans the private sector, early-stage startups, and national philanthropy, bringing a rare blend of strategic, operational, and entrepreneurial expertise that enables her to bridge vision and execution and deliver measurable, sustainable results across the higher education ecosystem.
She is a proud graduate of the University of Arizona, a fifth-generation San Francisco Bay Area resident, and the mother of school-aged twins, which means she’s no stranger to complex negotiations and rapid-fire problem-solving.
Steve Yates | Vice President of Finance
Steve brings 20 years of business financial management experience within the senior care industry, working with small and mid-size regional providers to implement financial and managerial accounting standards, sound financial practices and budgeting strategies. His background includes experience with multi-entity consolidated financial accounting, project management, multi-entity banking, cash management, compliance reporting, and balance sheet reporting.
Julia Youngs | Senior Director, Social Impact Strategy and Entrepreneurship
Julia brings over 12 years of experience in program and event management, specializing in high-tech and social impact startups and has led startup accelerators across the Middle East, Southeast Asia, Europe, and the United States. She is passionate about supporting organizations to hone their purpose and align their mission with their programmatic goals. Julia is currently pursuing her doctorate at Oxford University in Sustainable Urban Development. She has worked for over a decade as a stage manager and community arts organizer and serves on various non-profit boards of directors. She speaks Spanish and Portuguese. When not working or studying, you can find Julia running or tending to her Great Danes.
Dr. Joseph A. Gartner | Principal Data Scientist
Dr. Gartner’s primary focus is to help Alithi and our client organizations make better decisions by leveraging data, statistics, and machine learning. He has developed these skills over the course of 15 years of scientific research, software development, and leading teams of engineers to develop data products. Along the way, he worked at the Large Hadron Collider at CERN where he participated in the initial data taking and analysis which helped lead to the discovery of the Higgs Boson. More recently, he contributed to the efforts of the Defense Advanced Research Project Agency (DARPA) where he applied machine learning techniques to further the nation’s defense on the XDATA and QCR programs. Joe enjoys coaching and playing rugby and practicing jiu jitsu.
Todd Moudy | Chief Information Officer
With a passion for innovative digital technology, Todd brings with him 20 years of experience as an IT consultant specializing in designing and deploying cloud-based solutions for business. He has consulted for a wide variety of companies in the legal, financial, manufacturing, healthcare, and tech industries, as well as a number of nonprofit organizations. He is dedicated to ensuring that Alithi and their clients have access to the technical infrastructure needed for success. When out-of-office Todd enjoys drumming, playing rugby, and raising various furry quadrupeds.
Sam Scott | Vice President of Information Technology
Sam brings over 40 years of IT experience to the table. From Systems Engineer at IBM to instructing and implementing Microsoft networks. Sam’s previous position was as a “hands on” IT director in the public safety field. Introducing and coordinating IT interaction among several agencies is, if nothing else, interesting. Sam enjoys traveling to and participating in chess tournaments, seeing new places and meeting old friends, and being an active participant in local town affairs.
Paul Villella | Senior Director of Procurement
A cross between business analytics and sourcing/procurement is where Paul developed his career with more than 15 years of experience focused on healthcare, tech, and retail industries. He has negotiated billion-dollar RFP projects for services, equipment and supply categories along with optimization in healthcare procurement processes at a large organizational level. Paul is focused on bringing a detailed eye to process improvement for procurement and cost reduction for client organizations. When not at work, Paul enjoys globetrotting, watching and playing ice hockey, winetasting, rockhounding, and campfires with his family at their cabin.
Juan Acosta | Principal AI Development Engineer
Juan is a data science leader with a proven record of turning AI research into measurable impact in healthcare and finance. His work has powered nationally recognized preventative health programs that saved over $81 million for the Medicare Trust Fund. The models he has deployed have been featured at top chronic disease conferences in Heart Failure (JCF, HFSA) and Diabetes (ADA) as well as recognized nationally by NAACOS, the American Medical Association, and the Wall Street Journal. Juan specializes in deploying machine learning models at scale to reduce costs, improve outcomes, and translate complex analytics into trusted operational tools.
Sarah Anderson | Executive Assistant and Project Coordinator
Sarah brings over 15 years of experience in administrative, project management, and IT roles within a variety of industries including construction, safety, and technology. Sarah is excited to bring this breadth of knowledge to assist Alithi and their clients’ success. In her off time, Sarah enjoys costuming, restoration, and collecting one-too-many rescue animals at her rural PNW property.
Dan Williams | Director of Administrative Support and Project Management
Dan serves as the Director of Administrative Support and Project Management, bringing over 27 years of leadership and operational experience across military, international consulting, and corporate environments. With 22 years of active duty service in the U.S. Air Force, he developed deep expertise in people leadership, security and force protection, and complex project management. Dan spent four years advising and consulting with military partners across Europe, building partner capacity, enhancing interoperability with allied forces, and supporting U.S. and NATO strategic objectives. Most recently, he has led large, multidisciplinary corporate teams, driving administrative operations, process optimization, and project execution aligned with organizational strategy and client-focused outcomes. Dan brings forward his integrity first mentality, leadership through service, and strong focus in excellence.
Dan is deeply motivated by his love for his family, which serves as his “why” and the foundation for both his personal and professional life. Outside of work, he enjoys traveling with his wife, exploring new places, kayaking, fishing, camping, and attending live sporting events—especially cheering on his favorite teams, the LA Dodgers and the LA Chargers—while spending time with their adult children whenever possible.
